Hi, I'm Daniel.
I'm a product leader, an investor, and a serial starter of things. Right now I'm VP of Product at Universal Ads, part of Comcast, where we're reimagining how premium TV and streaming advertising gets bought and sold. But the short version of me is simpler than my resume: I like building things that make a hard industry work better, and I like the people who are brave enough to build alongside me.
How I got here
I started my career close to the advertising and media business and never really left — I just kept moving to wherever the interesting problems were. I got my MBA at USC Marshall in 2013. I started a SaaS company, learned a hundred lessons the hard way, and sold it. That founder chapter changed how I think about product forever: you feel every decision when it's your own company on the line.
From there I went deep into product at the companies actually shaping how ads and commerce work — Snapchat, Mailchimp, Market, SHIFT, Algolift — before landing at Universal Ads.
Somewhere along the way I became a connector. I make intros constantly, I invest in founders I believe in, and I started two podcasts because I couldn't stop having these conversations anyway. I'm based in LA.
Areas of expertise
Ad tech & monetization product — building the platforms that buy, sell, and measure advertising.
0-to-1 and founder-mode building — I've done it with my own money on the line.
Product strategy & roadmap — turning a messy problem space into a plan a team can actually ship.
Go-to-market for technical products — positioning, packaging, and getting the story right.
Martech & ecomm — where advertising, data, and commerce collide.
Angel investing & advising — mostly consumer/CPG brands, plus tech.
Some of the work
Reimagining how premium TV and streaming advertising gets bought and sold — making it easier for advertisers of any size to buy the kind of inventory that used to be locked behind big agencies.
